NatMusuemArchaelogy-1500x515The National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology opened in 1890 and is located on Kildare Street. It houses displays on prehistoric Ireland, including early work in gold, church treasures and the Viking and medieval periods. Most notable are the early medieval Celtic metalwork examples such as the Ardagh Chalice, Tara Brooch, and the Derrynaflan Hoard.
