The National Gallery of Ireland first opened its doors to the public in January 1864. Its collection boasts 2,500 paintings and approximately 10,000 other works in different media including watercolors, drawings, prints and sculpture. The Gallery also houses the Yeats Museum with works by Jack B Yeats, his father John Butler, and other members of this artistic family.
