AIS Policy on Conference Journal Publication: Publication of research results in conferences followed by the publication of a more refined contribution in a journal is a normal and healthy part of the scientific process. The conference review process and the presentation of the study to colleagues helps improve the research, so the research has the opportunity to be more substantially developed for review by journals. Therefore, it is AIS policy that 1) papers published at AIS conferences may be submitted to any journal and 2) AIS journals cannot reject a paper simply because it has been published at a conference. Many leading journals have policies that match this AIS policy (e.g., MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Information Technology, European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information & Management, Information and Organization, Decision Support Systems, Systemes d’Information et Management, Business & Information Systems Engineering, International Journal of Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management, MISQ Executive (MISQE), Journal of Electronic Commerce Research, Information & Organization, International Journal of Internet of Things and Cyber-Assurance, Electronic Markets, Information Polity, International Journal of Healthcare Information Systems and Informatics, Information Technology for Development Journal, Heath and Technology, Group Decision and Negotiation, International Journal of Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management, Internet Research, Journal of Marketing Analytics, International Journal of Knowledge Management Decision Sciences Journal, Journal of Enterprise Transformation, International Journal of Social and Organizational Dynamics in Information Technology, Journal of Information Technology Theory and Application, Computers & Security, and the Journal of Management Information Systems).
