Completed Research

Completed Research papers must describe completed research. Submissions related to the conference theme (“A Tradition of Innovation”), or other relevant topics of interest to AMCIS attendees, will be considered. Completed Research papers must be submitted to a track/minitrack where they will be peer-reviewed using a double blind system. If accepted, Completed Research papers will be presented in a session, which consists of three or four papers. Sessions employ a standard format of presentation by an author and general audience discussion. Each session room is set up with presentation equipment (i.e., projectors and screens). You should plan on bringing your own laptop or tablet and adapter for your output port (HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, etc.). Full papers must not exceed 10 pages (approx. 5,000 words, including figures, tables, references, and appendices) and must conform to the AMCIS 2017 final (camera ready) submission template. Full papers that are accepted will be published in their entirety in the conference proceedings. IMPORTANT: After uploading the final version of your paper, please remember to delete the original submission in ScholarOne.

  • 09-January-2017: ScholarOne opens for submissions
  • 01-March-2017 1:00 PM EST (13:00): Submissions are due
  • 17-April-2017: Notification of initial decision

When submitting online, you must select a track and minitrack. A complete list of tracks and minitracks is available here. Under no circumstances should the same paper be submitted to more than one track/minitrack. For further guidance, please consult directly with track chairs.

  • Download the final (camera ready) submission template. IMPORTANT: After uploading the final version of your paper, please remember to delete the original submission in ScholarOne.
  • Length: Completed research papers must not exceed 10 pages all inclusive (approx. 5,000 words, including figures, tables, references, and appendices).
  • All submissions must be in Microsoft® Word .DOC or .DOCX, or Adobe PDF. The body of the submission (text, figures, tables, references, and appendices) should be stored in one single file and must use the AMCIS 2017 submission template.
  • All figures and illustrations must be inserted into your Word .DOC or .DOCX file as either JPG or GIF format (other formats or embedded graphic objects will not convert to PDF correctly). For more instructions regarding figures, please see the submission template for research papers. Any submission that does not use this template or deviates from the formatting requirements will be rejected without review.
  • Be certain to accept all changes and turn track changes “off” before uploading your paper to the AMCIS 2017 Review System.
  • NOTE:  Every author (co-author) is limited to a maximum of three papers in the Completed Research and ERF categories together. Panels, Workshop &Tutorials, PDS and TREO talks are not included in the 3 paper maximum.

Completed Research Papers and Emergent Research Forum (ERF) Papers will be pre-screened for conformity with submission guidelines and for overall appropriateness for the conference. Papers that pass the initial screening processes will be double blind reviewed.

Authors name(s) should not appear in the body of the paper (including the abstract). Eliminate references to your institutions, your sponsors, your unpublished work and your published work if these references will identify any author. To aid in making your paper anonymous, leave any Acknowledgement blank until the final version is prepared for the Proceedings. Also, please remove author and institution information from document properties. To do this in Microsoft® Word, click on File | Info | Check for Issues | Inspect Document.  Click Inspect; Review the Inspective Results; then click Remove All next to the inspection results for the content that you wish to remove.

English (dialects including American, British, Canadian, etc.) is the language of the conference and of all submissions. One track (LACAIS: Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin America Track) will accept submissions in languages other than English.

Submissions to AMCIS 2017 must be original; submissions cannot have been published or accepted in a journal or conference proceedings, nor presented at another conference. Submissions must not be currently under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere.

After initial submission, authors cannot be added to or deleted from completed research papers, or emergent research forum (ERF) papers.

For all papers accepted into AMCIS 2017, authors of accepted papers will retain copyright. However, by submitting a paper, authors do agree that AIS can publish and reproduce any accepted papers in the AMCIS 2017 Proceedings in the format of AIS’s choosing (e.g., CDs, eLibrary, or printed proceedings) under an established ISBN number for AMCIS 2017.
