Presentation Guidelines

COMPLETED RESEARCH SESSION: PRESENTERS

Each session is 90 minutes and is divided equally among each paper in the session. For example, in a session with 3 presenters each presenter has 30 minutes allotted. Authors should plan to present for 2/3 of their time and use the remaining 1/3 of time for a question session.

COMPLETED RESEARCH SESSION: CHAIRS

The Session Chair is charged with ensuring presenters stay on time and maintaining professional dialogue among participants. The Chair is to introduce each presenter along with the paper. The Session Chair is required to bring a backup laptop or tablet that can connect to a projector for presenters to use, along with any necessary display adapters or arrange a suitable device to be brought by the authors in advance.

AVAILABLE AV EQUIPMENT

Meetings rooms will have projectors and screens, but you should bring your own laptop or tablet and adapter for your output port (HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, etc.), or coordinate with your Session Chair to ensure that a laptop or tablet is available. Presenters should have their equipment ready 5 minutes prior to presentation. If, as a presenter, you are not the first presenter, please avoid coming late to the session; not all presenters will take exactly 30 minutes and attendees may be left waiting for you.

PRESENTATION FORMAT

Plan on using a digital presentation format like Microsoft Power Point. Other alternatives like Adobe’s PDF are also acceptable. Avoid reading text directly from your presentation slides. Ensure the content of your presentation will not exceed your allotted time.
