Description

This track focuses on the interplay of human behaviors and information systems at the individual, group, organization and societal levels as well as the intersection across levels. We are interested in papers that examine how technologies shape and influence human behaviors and how human behaviors in turn inform the use and design of technologies. We are also interested in research of new technological developments e.g. automation and how they change the interaction between human behaviors and information systems. We welcome submissions that extend or challenge the current beliefs, assumptions, and theories, using all methodologies.

Topics of Interests

  • Influence of information systems on individual behaviors, group dynamics, and organizational norms and policies
  • Influence of individual and collective behaviors on the design and use of information systems
  • Influence of social and organizational factors on human behaviors associated with information systems (e.g., organizational culture, social norms, and institutional forces)
  • Cross-cultural analysis of human behaviors and information systems
  • Interplay between patterns of human interactions and the technologies used to support the interactions
  • Mobile technology, and its opportunities and challenges for users
