AIS and the ICIS 2016 Organizing Committee are pleased announce that the Keynote Address at the 2016 International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) will be delivered by Atish Banerjea, Chief Information Officer for Facebook, and who will be the inaugural recipient of the Association for Information Systems Leadership Excellence Award. The award will be conferred on Monday, December 12th, in Dublin, Ireland, during the ICIS 2016 keynote session, at 11 AM (GMT). Please join the conference organizers and the AIS leadership in extending our warm congratulations to Mr. Banerjea for this achievement.

 

2016 AIS Leadership Excellence Award Winner

Atish Banerjea is being recognized for his distinguished leadership and innovation in the use and development of information systems. Renowned for his extensive experience in adapting to succeed in the rapidly-changing technology landscape, in his role as CIO he is responsible for overseeing Facebook’s global IT team as the company works to make the world more open and connected.

Most recently, Banerjea served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for NBCUniversal where he was responsible for leading the Information Technology organization and overseeing global technology strategy and applications, corporate systems, and infrastructure and operations worldwide for the company’s media portfolio. Banerjea’s portfolio included technology for Broadcast and Cable TV; Universal Pictures; News; Parks and Resorts; Sports and Olympics; Digital; Media Labs; Sales, Research and Analytics; and NBCUniversal’s International group.

Before this, Banerjea served as Chief Technology Officer for Dex One Corporation, where he led a major redesign of the company’s IT functions and helped transform it from a print-centric business to a digital media-marketing company.

Prior to joining Dex One, Banerjea served as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Pearson, where he was responsible for global planning, deployment and management of more than $550 million in information technology investment. He also held roles at Maurices, Inc. and Simon & Schuster. Mr. Banerjea holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Temple University and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Delhi University.

The Association for Information Systems Leadership Excellence Award will be presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and innovation in the use and development of information systems. For more information on the award, please visit the AIS webpage.

Authors who have had their RIP paper accepted will present their work as a poster. Please find instructions here. (Updated per Oct 27, 21:00 GMT – if you downloaded them before that time, please download this new version.)

 

Option 1: Self Printing. Poster presenters may self-print the poster. Kindly make sure to abide by the following specifications:

  • Use the poster template provided
  • Please include Manuscript ID in the bottom right corner as indicated on the template
  • Posters should be printed as single sheet poster
  • Poster Dimensions: 56 inches (1.43m) (height) x 48 inches (1.21m) (width)
  • Please make sure to use Portrait Orientation for your poster
  • Please note that multiple page (e.g., print out of slides) display in lieu of a single poster will not be acceptable
  • NEW: (see template) Insert the QR Code in the lower right corner above ManuscriptID

 

Option 2: Pay Fee and Poster will be Printed and Shipped to the Conference. We will print the posters and have these available for display directly at the conference site for a fee of $38. This fee (payable by December 1st) includes color printing, and delivery to the Convention Centre Dublin. At the conclusion of the Poster Session on Monday 12/12, the presenters may take their posters back home with them. For this option, please do the following:

You will find information about the ICIS 2016 program from the main menu;

Ancillary Events -> List of Events gives access to a list of events that is regularly updated. Also, you can have a look at the “Schedule of Events” which provides a complete overview of the week of ICIS 2016. The program is currently being finalized and will also be made available through a neat web app that can guide you during the conference.

The list of completed research papers  and session list are available under the menu “Program”. We will upload the list of accepted RIP papers soon – thanks for your patience!

The Junior Faculty Consortium consortium will take place on December 11, 2016 (Sunday) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Convention Centre Dublin (the room location will be announced later). There will be a keynote speech, panel discussions, and interactive sessions built around issues relevant to the career development of junior faculty members. Participants will have opportunities to interact with a selected group of faculty mentors, with whom they can share their thoughts and concerns about developing their careers.
